I’m off to my wedding in beautiful, sunny Hawaii, but before I go, I’ve got a surprise for you all. One of my favorite bloggers, Colin Dowling from the insanely excellent Tech(st)book blog, has offered to post some of his startup ideas here while I’m gone for the next two weeks. Unlike myself, he’s the real deal, an entrepreneur out of Austin, TX who is actively working on his latest project. I can’t thank him enough for holding down the fort while I’m gone.
Hope you all enjoy his ideas while I’m gone, and I’m looking forward to getting back in the daily routine of posting new ideas when I return on the 28th.
Ahh! So much to do, so little time to blog. Sorry for the lack of ideas this week, lots of crazy stuff going on. I have a few ideas in the pipeline and definitely want to give a shout-out to some great demos at last night’s Seattle Tech Startups meeting, but unfortunately I’ve got to hit the road now to head out on a weekend rafting trip.
Hope you’re all enjoying your Friday. Now get outside and soak up some sun. 🙂
Just saw this news about Pownce annoucing their public API, set to be released in September: http://mashable.com/2007/07/25/pownce-public-api/
And here was my prediction on July 11th for my Precog idea for a Pownce Facebook plug-in:
Prediction: Within the next 2 months, Pownce will open its API and allow users to develop 3rd party apps. This is based on the success Digg is having with its open API and to better compete with similar offerings like Twitter and Jaiku, both of which have open APIs.
Likelihood (1 – 10): 9 (very likely)
I was just checking my Spam filter and came across the following fake comment. There was something very compelling about the story that is woven around the Spam links, so I thought I would repost…along with a little bit of commentary…
I received a decent (for me – less than 10) number of hits today from the following URL: http://share.opml.org/viewsharedfeeds/?user_id=6628
He was the one who got me into bloggin in the first place, it’s awesome to see he’s actually subscribed to my blog! 🙂
Sorry for going dark for a few days, H and I decided to take a spur-of-the-moment mini vacation to beautiful Chelan, WA for the weekend. I lived in the area for about a year when I first moved to Washington and it’s definitely a fun place to get outside and enjoy summer. I’ve got a few ideas up my sleeve that I’ll be posting shortly, but first…a few random thoughts.
- I got a nice message from a reader yesterday informing me that he’s going to be “borrowing” one of my ideas for his new startup venture! How awesome is that? I can’t wait to see it, and just to state again for the record, PLEASE feel free to steal any of the ideas posted here. I’ve also usually got a few more details in mind for most of the startup ideas that I post, so if you’re thinking about using one of these ideas for a new startup, feel free to send me a message and I’d be happy to give out some more details about any of these ideas.
- Quick update on my comment policy. I can (and will) take down or modify any comments that are posted here at my own indescretion. Please refrain from posting any comment that might be of…shall we say…questionable taste.
- Speaking of comments, quick shout out to my 6th reader Erinn! My Z-List counter is still up and growing. Check that, up and shrinking. It went from 5 to 1 in the past few days. Hilarious! I do appreciate the fact that many of you are using the-G-word Reader, my WordPress feed, or any other non-Feedburner-approved ways of accessing this content. Just so you know, I do have more than just one reader, and I really do appreciate each and every one of your visits to this site. Man, I love me some comments, though…hint, hint… 🙂
